Two Crickhollow authors, Linda George (Fill-in-the-Blank Plotting) and Philip Martin (A Guide to Fantasy Literature), author and director of Crickhollow Books, will be speaking at this great writers conference in Beaumont, Texas (about 90 miles NE of Houston).
The conference is sponsored by the Golden Triangle Writer’s Guild. The Guild aspires to be the “central source of fellowship, knowledge, and inspiration for Southeast Texas area writers.” It started out 20-some years ago as a regional chapter of the Romance Writers of America, but has grown to include all types of writers, agents, and editors, with almost 1,000 members.
In 2005, though, the annual conference was cancelled in the face of impending Hurricane Rita. This is the first conference since then.
By the way, since then, they also published an anthology based on the hurricane, titled It’s in the Gulf! Check it out! The phoenix of creativity again rises from the ashes of destruction.
The two main days of the conference are Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24. Crickhollow Books is pleased to be part of this rebirth of a terrific gathering of literary talent, professional networking, and fellowship.
Linda George will be offering a session on strong writing, and Philip Martin will be talking about Crickhollow Books and how to get published with an independent press.
