Crickhollow Books and Crispin Books are related imprints of our indie book publishing house, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After releasing our first title in 2008, more than ten years ago, we have continued to publish quality fiction and nonfiction titles for adult and young readers – appealing, influential books with a positive impact.

Although we are small in size, tiny in comparison to the big mega-houses, we strive to produce books that can make a difference . . . in our Midwest heartland region, across the country, and in the hands of readers across the globe.

We are Midwestern in spirit. Our books are neighborly, down-to-earth, and practical. There’s always time to share a well-told story.

In the words of novelist Sue Monk Kidd, “The world has enough dogma.
It’s stories we need more of,
 stories that reverence the
still, small voice that sings our life.”

Thanks for visiting. Remember: good places . . . a nice coffeehouse or restaurant, a micro-brewery or, yes, a small publisher like us . . . only survive if you take that extra step to buy a product now and then, and tell your friends, and share our news on social media.

What We Publish

Over the years, we’ve built a nice selection of titles in a few focus areas, noted below.

About our Name

Crickhollow. The name evokes a cozy, peaceful place, a little stream nestled in an open woods. It’s a special place to nurture your spirit.

Crispin is an imprint name we added later. It emerged initially with our ebook releases (well, most of them). But Crispin also does original trade paperbacks – historical fiction, mysteries. Overall, there is no great difference between Crickhollow and Crispin; we just ended up with the two names, and like them equally.
