Join Sandy Brehl for a book talk and signing on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Ben Hunt Center, Hales Corners Public Library in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Sandy will be discussing her latest book, Mari’s Hope, the concluding book in her historical novel trilogy set in occupied Norway during World War II.
Sandy will talk about the writing of the 3-book series, which combined historical research, several visits to Norway, and her active gathering of oral history anecdotes about the war years from Norwegians and Norwegian-Americans.
The audience for the series that features young Mari, a Norwegian girl growing up in a village in western Norway in the early 1940s, includes readers ages ten through adult. Brehl’s earlier books in the series, Odin’s Promise and Bjorn’s Gift, will be featured in the program and available for sale. Odin’s Promise was the winner of the 2014 Midwest Book Award for Children’s Fiction.
A Q&A and book signings will follow Sandy’s presentation.
