Loreen Niewenhuis, author of A 1,000-Mile Walk on the Beach: One Woman’s Trek of the Perimeter of Lake Michigan, will be a featured speaker at the Cottage & Lakefront Living show in Grand Rapids, Michigan this weekend (March 25–27).
Loreen will present a talk each day (Friday, Saturday & Sunday, see details on show website) . . . about her 2009 walk around Lake Michigan. Her new book (just released by Crickhollow Books this month) tells about her journey: why she took it and what she discovered (about Lake Michigan and about herself).
As Vickie Weaver said in a review on Amazon.com:
Her adventure is a great inspiration, and she is a good role model to those of us who (at any age) dare to dream and dare to act on those dreams. Reading this book made ME feel stronger and more independent!
The book has been launched with author appearances in front of enthusiastic, lake-loving audiences at some of the finest independent bookstores in Michigan (Brilliant Books of Suttons Bay, McLean & Eakin Booksellers of Petoskey, Horizon Books of Traverse City, Great Lakes Books and Supply of Big Rapids, and more to come).
The Cottage & Lakefront Living show celebrates all aspects of enjoying a get-away vacation at a favorite cottage on a lake . . . those places that hold special memories of family fun shared across generations.
