Loreen Niewenhus packed ’em in for an early bookstore event for A 1,000-Mile Walk on the Beach last Thursday.
Here’s a photo from the talk and signing at McLean & Eakin, a fine indie bookstore in Petoskey, Michigan.
Loreen’s book about her walk all around Lake Michigan poses that question we’ve all had, walking on a big beach: What’s around that next bend? What if I just kept going? And going? Which is what Niewenhuis did . . . for 1,000 miles!
As Vicki, a reader, wrote in a 5-star review on Goodreads:
If you have ever spent a day on the beach at any of the Great Lakes, you know the appeal that these great bodies of water have on your soul. They are beautiful, ever changing, expansive and filled with mystery.
The official launch event is March 11, at Brilliant Books of Suttons Bay, MI, on the scenic Leelanau Peninsula.
After that . . . many book events in Michigan are scheduled through the summer. Here’s a link to the Lake Trek blog; the right-hand column lists coming author appearances. (More are in planning for the Wisconsin side of the pond. Details soon!)
